The African Information Market and MMI Collaborate in the Documentation of newspapers from Africa.
| Inside the Interreg IIIB program of the Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores.
The African Information Market, the international network of MMI and the foundation "Emprende Canarias" have started a collaboration project inside the program Atlante Media. This consists of the creation of a production structure in Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and the Green Cape Islands, for the daily digitalisation of newspapers from these 4 countries. The project will also include the creation of posterior reports and dossiers. This will allow the Canary Islands and those that belong to Portugal (¨Madeira, Azores), to improve relations with Northern Africa. The head of this project, financed by the European Union through the Interreg IIIB program (Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores), is the foundation "Emprende Canarias". The project is focussed on the promotion of investigation, the development of technology and the innovation and instalment of projects that will benefit young Canarian entrepreneurs and workers with physical disabilities. The FEC has a regional scope with offices in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and was founded at the start of 2004 by Enrique Fárez and the company MMI. The African Information Market is looking for suitable heads for the newspapers in Africa for the analysis of labour and documentation. The project has already opened structures in Senegal and Mauritania. It also has some of the technical teams and equipment in place. The press is a fountain of both basic institutional and business information for the design of actions promoting institutional collaboration, implantation projects, co-operation and development of relations between different regions. The system that Atlante Africa is going to generate will re-enforce the competitiveness if Canarian businesses in this area, facilitate relations with countries in Northern Africa, promote the exportation of goods from businesses enrolled in the RUP project. With time, the project should be able to amplify and enlarge markets, promote relations between private and public centres and promote tourism, better the decision making processes of businesses. |
